About the Late Rapier Series
The Late Rapier Series by Reinier van Noort comprises three books: Lessons on the Thrust, Of the Single Rapier, and The True Principles of the Single Sword.
These books cover a range of original texts from Germany, the Netherlands and France, describing the use of the rapier in the late 17th century. After being introduced from Italy earlier in the century, the style of fencing with the rapier continued to develop throughout Europe. This triptych of fencing treatises gives an insight into the status of these developments around the year 1670 in three different European countries.
